WILink plc Announces Changes to Board of Directors
Peter Wakeham Named Executive Chairman and Patrick Galleher Named Chief Executive Officer
Richmond, VA – April 4, 2005 – WILink plc (LSE: WLK or WLK.L), a worldwide provider of web-based communications solutions and online investor relations services, announced changes to its Board composition as follows:
-
Patrick Galleher, previously Chief Operating Officer, North America, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.
- Peter Wakeham, previously Chief Executive Officer, has become Executive Chairman.
- Nigel Wray, previously Chairman, stepped down from that role but remains a non-executive director.
These changes became effective April 1, 2005.
James Patrick Galleher was Chief Operating Officer, North America, since January 2000 and was appointed to the Board in January 2004. He has been instrumental in the development of the PrecisionIR suite of products and more recently has lead the development of our fast growing web events business.
Commenting on the Board changes, Nigel Wray, said: “These changes recognize the new direction the Company is taking in developing its strategy from the single focus of serving the investor relations market to the broader remit of becoming a leading online communications company with a strong and growing presence in web events serving a wider community.
“The strategy requires a deep understanding of the North American market, which contains exciting prospects for the future of WILink. In Patrick Galleher, we are fortunate to have someone who has that knowledge. He will continue to benefit from the guidance and advice of Peter Wakeham. I have stepped down from my role as Chairman as I firmly believe that in Peter and Patrick we have a powerful team to provide us with real leadership to take us forward.”
Peter Wakeham added: “Nigel’s role as a wise counsellor and strong supporter of the Company’s activities is much appreciated by the Board and staff of WILink. We are delighted he has agreed to remain on the Board as a non-executive director so that we continue to benefit from his advice.”
